About Us

We have added a beauty section to our studio in Patong Beach! Our beauty team can do nails, eyelash extensions and a range of cosmetic tattoos!

While we love a full studio, who doesn't, we believe in delivering quality tattoos over pushing people through our studio or ``fitting you in``.

Champs Tattoo opened our first studio in July 2018 and have gradually built our service, team and reputation in Patong Beach as a quality tattoo studio.

Champs is a brand known in Phuket for quality! We have a range of businesses in Patong Beach in addition to our VIP Tattoo Studio at the KEE Resort & Spa Plaza in Patong, Phuket, Thailand. We have located across the road from Kudo Beach Club and McDonald’s as well as only a short talk to Bangla Rd!

At Champs Tattoo we source the best artists in Thailand for each of our customers. Champs artists are chosen specifically for the tattoo you seek. We have artists who do Traditional Bamboo, Colour, Black and Grey, Japanese, Cover-ups, Sleeves, Full Back and more!

At Champs, we encourage customers to pre-book tattoos. Paying a deposit is the best way to ensure you are getting the best artist for your tattoo! We have Australian, UK, USA, Singapore and Thai Bank accounts so you can pay your deposit or even pay off your tattoo before you arrive in Phuket.

When you arrive in Thailand, Champs staff can pick you and your crew up from the airport with our network of drivers. We can even arrange a package with flights and accommodation… we have it all covered! Excellent customer service and quality tattoos are what you will find at Champs!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to pay a deposit?
Yes, we require a deposit. We can not guarantee an artist will be available without a deposit, especially for custom artwork. Remember, our artists will be drawing out an original piece of art just for you. Your initial deposit does two things: it pays for the drawing time and that original sketch, and it also guarantees, that you’ll show up to your appointment without having to wait and that you will turn up 😉 It might seem weird, but yeah, people bail on their appointments all the time.

Your money down means that our artists’ design time isn’t entirely wasted and they are paid.
How do I book a tattoo?
Feel free to give the shop a call/message via WhatsApp on +66 80 524 4606 or SMS or contact us through Facebook messenger or Instagram. The key is to be clear and brief. Facebook is usually the quickest way to get our team. We have managers in Australia and Thailand who will work together to make sure you get a suitable appointment time.

We also offer a call back service in Australia and from Thailand if you would like to complete our form at https://champstattoo.com/elements/request-call Have your schedule ready to confirm a date, and make sure to write down anything else discussed. When you contact us, we will usually give you an appointment time to discuss your design and an appointment time with an artist to ensure you get the most suitable artist for your tattoo!
Can I just walk in?
We do have artists who do have availability for people walking in… however we can not guarantee their availability without a booking. Our artists are very sort after and are also contracted by a number of studios so their availability may be limited at times. It is always recommended that you book your tattoo with Champs Tattoo well before leaving your home country and coming to Thailand.
Can I contact the artists directly?
Unless you’ve got a special relationship with that tattoo artist, or that person is a dear friend, it is best to book directly through Champs Tattoo’s Instagram or Facebook page. Tattoo artists’ schedules are all over the place and busy, keeping track of multiple forms of communication is exhausting for anybody so the management of Champs Tattoo will take care of all your appointments. By going through the Champs Tattoo Instagram or Facebook Page, you ensure you are on the calendar properly, and you will not have your tattoo added last minute to anyone’s schedule. We have these policies and procedures in place to ensure there are no rushed tattoos at Champs!
Are Bamboo Tattoos more painful than Machine Tattoos?
The problem with this question is that everyone is different and we all handle pain differently.
The experience of our team is that bamboo tattoos don’t cause as much pain as machine tattoos. Machine tattoos go deeper into the skin and basically create an open wound. So it would be reasonable to say that Bamboo Tattoos hurt less.
The reason some people say bamboo tattoos are more painful is that they take longer to complete (up to 2-3 times slower and this is why they also cost more). So even though it hurts less, the pain does add up over time and therefore some people say it hurts more.
What does Champs Tattoo recommend that I need to consider before getting tattooed?
Getting a tattoo can be a lot for your body and immune system to deal with. So, try to help your body out as much as possible. Don’t get drunk the night before, try and get a good night’s sleep and eat a sensible meal before your appointment. Low and fluctuating blood sugar is the reason some people may feel light-headed or sick when getting tattooed. A sensible meal should help combat that. Sweets and sugary drinks can produce insulin spikes so they are not the best thing before or during your tattoo! Also, be careful not to arrive at the studio sunburnt. Tattooing breaks down your epidermis, which, if you’re sunburned, is already damaged. Your body is already trying to heal your sunburned skin, so more damage will only mean trouble for a fresh tattoo.
Can I get a tattoo even if I’m sick?
It’s not recommended due to the fact that your immune system is already busy with your current condition. You’ll need your strength and white blood cells to heal and fight off an infection on a fresh tattoo. Another thing is you don’t want to pass on your health issues to other people in the studio.
What is the worst thing to take before getting tattooed?

Without a doubt, stimulants such as energy drinks, caffeine, and cocaine (it is illegal too) are terrible ideas before getting tattooed. Stimulants increase alertness, anxiety, blood pressure, and heart rate making sitting still for the duration of a tattoo session challenging. Leave those energy drinks alone. If you need the energy, have a sensible meal, a good sleep, and/or a piece of fruit.

Should I take medication for pain before getting tattooed?
No, you should not take painkillers before your tattoo! We are a painkiller-free studio meaning that we reserve the right to not proceed with your scheduled appointment if you have already had painkillers.
We have the following reasons for a strict painkiller-free policy at Champs Tattoo:
• painkillers can cause more bleeding
• painkillers are blood thinners: this means your blood won’t be thick enough for the normal clotting process – you will likely end up in more pain!
• individuals have been known to have allergic reactions or bad reactions to painkillers and/or doses of painkillers
• painkillers can affect the way your skin reacts to your new tattoo
• because WE CARE about your well-being!
So how can you stop a tattoo from hurting?
Well not really, but get a good night’s sleep, eat a decent breakfast with as little sugar as possible, no stimulants (including energy drinks), and leave the numbing creams alone, they really aren’t worth it. Above all else, stay calm and relaxed, and don’t forget the mind is the most powerful resource of all!
Is there anything I can take to relieve pain after having my tattoo?
Generally, tattoos are no more than a slight annoyance once they are done. Maybe some ibuprofen (please check with a chemist or your health care professional before taking any medication) might help with any swelling but we have found the effects to be minimal.
Follow the aftercare routine given to you by the Champs Tattoo & Beauty – Phuket, Thailand team and your tattoo should heal up fine.
What should I avoid immediately following my tattoo?
Do not scratch or pick at your tattoo!
As it heals, your tattoo will begin to scab. This is normal, and the scabs should be allowed to dry out and fall off by themselves. Do not try to help the process along by picking at the scabs. This may cause the scabs to fall off prematurely, leaving holes or light spots on your tattoo.
• If your hands or nails are unclean; you may also cause the tattoo to become infected. You should always wash your hands with anti-bacterial soap before touching your tattoo, and you should never allow anyone else to touch it while it heals.
• Dry, scabbing or peeling skin can become very itchy, but scratching at your tattoo may also cause scabs to fall off. You can relieve itching by slapping the tattoo with the flat of your hand, or by rubbing in a little lotion.
• Keep using moisturizing ointment to combat itchiness if it is a problem.
Avoid soaking the tattoo!
Until your tattoo is fully healed, you should avoid swimming in a pool, in the sea, or even soaking in the bathtub. There are two reasons for this. Firstly, exposing your tattoo to too much water may draw ink out of your skin and damage the appearance of the tattoo. Secondly, the water in swimming pools, the sea, and the bathtub may be carrying dirt, bacteria, chemicals and other impurities that could cause your tattoo to become infected.
• It will be completely safe to resume these activities once your tattoo is healed, but for now you should stick to rinsing your tattoo in the sink or shower.
• Keep your showers and baths short, under 5-6 minutes.
Do not expose your new tattoo to direct sunlight.
Sunlight is the worst enemy of new tattoos. The harsh rays of the sun may cause your skin to blister and bleach some of the colours from your tattoo. For this reason, it is best to keep your tattoo covered and away from the sun for at least 3 to 4 weeks, until the initial healing is complete. After 3-4 weeks, you will still need to protect your tattoo by wearing a minimum of SPF 30. This will prevent your tattoo from fading in the sun, keeping the colours true for longer.
Avoid swelling!
Swelling may occur with new tattoos on your feet, ankles or calves, especially if you have been standing for long periods of time. If this happens, you can reduce swelling by applying an ice pack to the swollen area, and elevating your feet and legs. You can also take an anti-inflammatory like Ibuprofen but only do so after seeking the advice of a chemist or your health care professional.
What does Champs Tattoo recommend for aftercare following a tattoo?
1. Listen to your tattoo artist.
Every tattoo artist will have a slightly different opinion on the best way to care for a new tattoo, but don’t worry, our artists have had years of experience in caring for new tattoos, so their methods have been tried and tested.
• Think of your tattoo as having a warranty; if you don’t follow the artist’s instructions, you might void the warranty, and he or she won’t give you free touch-ups.
• Remember: tattoo artists want your tattoo to heal correctly and look good just as much as you do, so they will only give you the best advice.
• The following instructions may vary slightly from what your tattoo artist tells you but should serve as a good guideline.
2. Leave the covering on for 2-3 hours (max)
Once the tattoo is complete, your tattoo artist will clean the area, apply an anti-bacterial ointment and cover the tattoo with plastic wrap. Once you have left champs tattoo, resist the temptation to open the plastic wrap. The plastic wrap is there to protect your tattoo from airborne bacteria, which can penetrate through your broken skin. The plastic wrap should be left on for approximately two hours before you remove it.
• Our tattoo artists are firm believers in wrapping new tattoos in plastic wrap. They believe plastic wrap is the best way to wrap a new tattoo as it is easy to apply and remove without sticking to the skin. It also forms an effective shield that blocks any bacteria from getting near the tattoo.
• Again, be sure to follow your artist’s advice carefully.
3. Carefully remove the plastic wrap.
Tattoos covered in plastic wrap should never be left on a new tattoo for longer than two hours unless recommended by your artist. In reality, the amount of time will vary according to the size and placement of the tattoo, along with the level of tattoo seepage. In most cases, it is best to follow the advice of your tattoo artist, but you should also use your judgment and common sense. If your tattoo does have seepage it is best to remove the plastic coverage!
4. Gently wash the tattoo.
Our artists recommend lukewarm water and mild, unscented liquid antibacterial or antimicrobial soap. Use your hands to rub the tattoo gently, removing all traces of blood, plasma, or leaked ink. This will help to prevent the tattoo from scabbing too soon. Do not use a washcloth, loofah or any sponge to clean the tattoo, as these items may hold bacteria.
• Do not hold the tattoo directly under the water. Wash it indirectly by splashing the water over the tattoo with your hands. The stream of water from the tap may be too harsh on your new tattoo.
• If your new tattoo is covering a large area of skin, it may well be easier to wash your new tattoo in the shower.
